We invite all students, families, and community members to join us from 10:00 to 2:00 on April 9th for an amazing exposition of student learning, culture, food, games, art, music, performances, and a STEM fair. All families and community members are welcome and we will have activities for all age ranges. Students will be putting their academic achievements on display at the STEM fair and in addition, our school community will host an international festival and food fair starting at 11:30. Free I-STEAM T-Shirts will be given out at the door on a first come first serve basis to the students arriving first.
Please join us as we celebrate culture, community, and a commitment to learning!

 ¡Está invitado!

Estimadas familias,

State Representative Jarvis Johnson visited Harmony School of Advancement to speak with students about education, leadership, and local politics in our day-to-day lives.
Rep. Johnson shared information about his background and reasons for entering politics. He also stressed the importance of young people getting involved in their local communities and gave tips on how they could best reach out to their elected leaders. On behalf of the entire HSA family, we greatly appreciate the time and advice of Representative Johnson and look forward to hosting him again soon.

The students worked in four teams to prepare meals for food-insecure people in the Houston area. The students filled 17 pallets worth of food, 14,479 lbs total. Those boxes will provide 12,065 meals for people. Our HSA juniors all worked hard and with smiles. They were respectful and followed the directions from the Houston Food Bank staff and our HSA staff. They represented our campus and their graduating class as responsible young adults, and they seemed to have fun in the process.
Yesterday’s trip served as a good trial run for the juniors’ field trip, but more than that, it gave them the opportunity to volunteer to help people in need.
Special thanks to the teacher chaperones!
Your family may be eligible for a financial benefit to assist with food purchases for your student.

PEBT benefits will soon be available for families whose children have experienced COVID related absences and who qualify for free or reduced price benefits through the National School Lunch Program.

Does my child qualify?

Both criteria must be met to qualify for PEBT benefits.

#1 A COVID related absence from August – December due to a positive test or exposure that has been verified by the campus.  COVID absences from January  – May will receive benefits in July.

#2 Eligible for free or reduced price meals through the National School Lunch Program.  To determine your child’s eligibility, submit an application through www.schoolcafe.com.  Paper applications may also be requested from the school office.  Students attending a CEP campus or who are directly certified automatically meet the eligibility requirement.

The deadline to complete a meal eligibility application is April 6th.

If you have any questions, please contact your school’s Child Nutrition Assistant.
