HPS Pre-AP Program Announcement

Dear Parents and Students,

We would like to inform you of a few changes to the labelling of “Pre-AP” courses.  According to the College Board, there are new requirements for calling a course “Pre-AP.”  These requirements can be found in detail here (https://pre-ap.collegeboard.org), but in summation Harmony Public Schools will be changing the titles of all courses formerly designated “Pre-AP” to “Honors.”

GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) Announcement!

In accordance with the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students, Harmony Public Schools will begin taking nominations for all interested students in grades 9-11 for gifted and talented screening. Anyone interested in the educational welfare of these students may nominate them for assessment. 

Nomination forms are available at the front office and on the school’s web site. The forms must be returned to the front office by Friday, February 2, 2018. Assessment will begin on Monday, February 5, 2018. For more information about the screening and identification process, parents may contact the school office.
